Dr. Josh Melko is visiting in from Dr. Al Viggiano's lab at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. Josh's visit marks the beginning of a collaboration with Dr. Viggiano's group to investigate water oxidation in photosystem II mimics.

Florian Schinle spends four weeks away from Dr. Kappes' group in Karlsruhe, Germany to help us set up an IRMPD experiment on our ICR. Florian's efforts paid off and we recorded our first IRMPD spectrum of leucine-enkephalin!

Dr. Michael Berman from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research spends six weeks of his sabbatical with the Johnson Lab to study CO2 reduction mechanisms. With Dr. Berman we have been looking at a number of ways to study CO2 reduction by electrospray of ionic liquids, electrochemical manipulation in an electrpsray source, and in gas-phase charge-transfer reactions.

Dr. Chris Johnson joins the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow from Prof. Robert Continetti's group. Chris is one of only ten recipients of the NSF American Competitiveness in Chemistry Postdoctoral Fellowship to study nucleation in atmospheric aerosol precursors.
